You will find a large free parking lot and the possibility to rent umbrellas, deckchairs and pedal boats. The nearest beach is Su Loi, only 1 km away, but it is not as beautiful as the beach of Maddalena. It is not suitable for swimming, but for fishing or sunbathing. In Pula there is a beautiful beach near Nora. Right after Pula there are other beautiful beaches like Santa Margherita, Chia, Capo Spartivento and Cala Cipolla. You can find more excursion programs in the brochures in the orange furniture in the living room, in the transparent plastic boxes.
Some general information!
Restaurants and pizzeria nearby There are many restaurants in the area where you stay, very good but expensive is "sa cardiga e su schironi" typical Sardinian restaurant in Maddalena. There are two restaurants and pizzeria in Frutti d'Oro, and some on the beach of Maddalena. The tourist menu costs 10-18 euros. Very nice is the pizzeria "Pezza e Pizza" on the beach of Maddalena. There is also a new restaurant on the beach that serves typical Italian dishes, called "Da Johnny". Very nice is also the restaurant very close to our house, "La Locanda", it's in the street to our house, only 5 minutes walk. But it is quite expensive. Good also "Tanca Irde" restaurant and pizzeria, but maybe difficult to find (it's a restaurant/hotel in the street towards Poggio dei Pini). In Cagliari If you want to try a real pizza (Napoli style) near the train station (corner of Via Sassari), look for "Rosso Pomodoro", which is good and cheap enough. It is also possible to try typical dishes from Naples. We also recommend the Sciuè Sciuè (in Cagliari, Via Palabanda 18). We recommend our favourite restaurant Ammentos, typical Sardinian dishes next to the station. ADDRESS: Via Sassari, 120, price from 15 to 35 euros, it's all organic and typical Sardinian. In Via Sardegna, just behind the main street, Via Roma, there are hundreds of small restaurants. Also on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, which is only accessible on foot, there are many small restaurants. It is very beautiful. BUSES We have provided the complete bus timetable so you can have a look at it. Remember that the last bus home leaves at 20.35. The name of the couch company is ARST. You take the bus behind Mac Donald's in Piazza Matteotti, there you can buy your tickets and then walk through Mac Donald's to the bus parking lot (it is possible to buy tickets at Mac Donald's or at the bus station, at the ticket machines. Remember that they sell tickets on the bus, but they are VERY expensive and some drivers won't sell them because it takes time to set them up. If you want to go by bus, just buy some in advance, but you can buy some tickets at the newsstand in Frutti D'Oro and in Torre degli Ulivi). Usually the buses are for the return journey home: PULA, TEULADA, SANT'ANNA ARESI or SARROCH. Always remember to ask the driver to let you off at the SU SPANTU or SU LOI stop. DO NOT TAKE THE BUS TO CAPOTERRA! This is the wrong bus! Our bus stop is not signposted, the sign is long gone and nobody has put it back. To recognize it, please look at the attached information. In general the bus stops at the signpost of the 13th km of the road (coming from Cagliari), on the opposite side of the road there is a big gap in the fence, there is the bus stop.
Remember that our roads and the drivers are dangerous. Cross with caution the main road (195) either on foot or by bicycle.
The train traffic on Sardinia is very bad. The train station is located just in front of the bus station, in Cagliari, in Piazza Matteotti.

Weather and times
The best time to visit Sardinia are the cold months. The mild climate allows you to visit the monuments and beaches without suffering from the heat.
The weather in summer can be hot and scorching. It is good to go out with a hat to protect yourself from the sun and use a good sunscreen. It is advisable not to go out from 12 to 15 in the afternoon. Some museums are closed in the afternoon and shops are also closed. Some shops are also closed in the evening.
